Position Summary: Establishes and maintains operation of the Health Care Center. Directs, coordinates and supervises all services and programs. Is knowledgeable of and follows all federal, state and local standards for nursing home operation. Supervises maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment. Develops, manages and leads the management team to assure excellence in services. Maintains good public relations and employee morale. Interprets nursing home's philosophy and all policies to staff and other concerned parties. Sets tone and atmosphere of nursing home. Represents nursing home in outside activities. Reports to the governing board on a regular basis. Performs duties as HIPAA Privacy Officer assuring adherence to HIPAA Policies and Procedures. AA/EOE Duties: Maintains operation of the Health Care Center. Supervises maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment. Selects competent personnel to supervise activities of major departments. Develops, implements and assesses systems of staffing and scheduling to assure adequacy and mix of personnel 24 hours a day. Provides leadership and direction in inspections, audits of facility and plant operation. Completes performance appraisals annually on all Department Directors. Communicates with Executive Administrator on purchasing major equipment, policy change, and staffing issues. Maintains established budgets. Approves all purchases. Maintains good public relations and employee morale. Represents the nursing home in communicating with outside agencies including governmental and third party payers. Interprets nursing home's philosophy and all policies to staff and other concerned parties. Sets tone and atmosphere of nursing home. Represents nursing home in outside activities. Maintains current knowledge of Minnesota Department of Health regulations and federal certification, HCFA guidelines. Meets with members of Department of Health or other regulatory officials when necessary and responds with plan of correction. Maintains a current license as a nursing home administrator by attending workshops and seminars. Performs duties as the privacy officer and assists in the implementation and changes of the HIPAA privacy policies.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Must have completed a baccalaureate degree, and be licensed as a health care administrator in the State of Minnesota. Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
