The residents are culturally diverse in ethnicity, race, spirituality and sexual preference. Ages of residents range from 18-70 years old. Our treatment program utilizes the Psychiatric Rehabilitation model and the evidence based practice Illness Management and Recovery to work cooperatively with residents when formulating an individual treatment plan. Through a series of assessments and discussion of prior experiences, the resident and their program manager form a partnership to focus on eliminating self-defeating behaviors and replacing them with skills and behaviors that increase their independence and autonomy. Residents have the opportunity to attend groups that focus on therapeutic recreation, independent living skills, and interpersonal skills. Our in-house vocational program recognizes the need for a supportive and structured environment to learn job-seeking skills in order to prepare them for the competitive work in the community. Andrew Residence is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
