The Minnesota Assisted Living rules and statutes that took place in August 2021 have delivered many communities with unexpected twists and turns of challenging regulatory and legal outcomes.  This session is designed to both look at the trends and learnings in the past year with a focus on tactics to create a more positive future.  Targets will be to manage those impacts to improve to a higher level of care, service delivery, and quality, thereby forecasting and creating a stronger care setting.

Robert F. Rodè is a partner and practices in the areas of health law, civil litigation, employment law, administrative law, and construction law. Mr. Rodè has a special emphasis on long-term care providers, home health agencies, rehabilitative agencies, and housing with services providers. In practice, Mr. Rodè represents and advises clients on issues such as regulatory compliance; the long-term care survey and appeal process; behavior issues; resident discharge; contract negotiations and drafting; dispute resolution; housing; civil and administrative litigation; arbitration and mediation; employment; and accounts receivable.

As owner and CEO of Zellner Senior Health Consulting, Ms. Zellner has 30  years in the healthcare field as a clinician, health care administrator, regional director, vice president and senior vice president, lobbyist, and a consultant for the past 21 years.  Ms. Zellner’s background has provided her education and practical experience in acute care continuum, long term care, sub-acute unit management, and assisted living settings.  She has served on a variety of long term committees in health care delivery and health reform.  Ms. Zellner is a frequent presenter for state and national leadership venues on the topics of quality, turnaround, management and organizational system improvement.
