Department: Nursing Directly responsible to: Nurse in charge/Director of Nursing/DON Designee Description: Trained Medication Aides (TMA's) are responsible for the direct care of the residents, under supervision of the nurse in charge or the Director of Nursing, according to facility policies and procedures. Qualifications: 1) Is a graduate of a state approved course in Medication Administration 2) Demonstrates safe and competent practice to complete position responsibilities 3) Keeps updated on new developments in nursing through continuing education. 4) Maintain current CPR certification Position Responsibilities: Assuring Resident Safety Answer phones Receive shift report Complete and document weights, vital signs; Assist with ADLs, document Medications and Treatments administration and documentation Restock medication cart with necessary medications after med pass Controlled substance count Documentation of 7-day observation, behavioral episodes and redirection, refusals, etc. Assist with meal/snack service Light housekeeping, sanitation, disinfection as needed Train new employees as assigned by staffing manager, DON, DON designee Attend Nursing Meetings Follows facility policies and procedures and CMS regulations Shift specific tasks as assigned Other duties as assigned by charge nurse or DON/DON Designee


JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be TMA Certified & provide a copy of your certificate. Dual CNA/TMA is preferred. Reliable transportation is a must. Able to effectively perform the job duties & responsibilities.
