Hanadi ChehabaddineDIVERSITY & HEALTH EQUITY
Hanadi Chehabeddine
Monday, November 13  |  10:15 AM  |  Sponsored by Gallagher

So many factors contribute to a person’s health journey. Being a woman, a mother, a Muslim, and a Middle Eastern have shaped Hanadi’s lived experience in America. Hanadi begins her presentation with a brief description of her own story of misrepresentation in the U.S. from being exposed to the media narrative to then becoming a public speaker, Human Rights award recipient, and inclusion consultant. The second part of this keynote focuses on misconceptions and the science of the unconscious bias. Hanadi then takes participants through a series of activities that demonstrate the natural function of the brain and explains the difference between the slow brain and fast brain. The goal is to highlight our unintentional human ability to miss out on people’s potential and hence the resulting inequities, despite our best intentions. Hanadi will also talk on equity in the healthcare industry and what you can do to provide optimal patient care in addition to attracting and retaining a diverse workforce. This section gives participants an insight into the latest findings and strategies to implement diversity, equity and inclusion best practices that contribute to a healthy work environment.

Jason HuntBECOMING A PERSON OF INFLUENCE
Jason A. Hunt
Tuesday, November 14 |  10:15 AM

If you look deep inside, you’ll see a purpose to live a life of meaning and impact. Heck, it’s probably what has driven you to become a care provider. However, understanding how to effectively create that and having the commitment to make it last can be challenging. Many people mistakenly believe that to make an impact you have to have a fancy title. True leaders understand that regardless of their position within an organization, they possess the power to influence others. That means you, yes you, are a leader, with or without a title, if you use your influence to make a positive impact in the lives of others. In this fun session on leadership, you’ll learn a straightforward four-step framework centered around care, connection, collaboration, and courage. Each step of this framework is complemented by a practical tool that can be readily implemented, making your job of influencing others easier. By committing to this framework and the accompanying tools, you will expand your influence and grow your purpose as a care professional. As a result, you will witness your influence manifesting as a powerful force for positive transformation in the lives of others—be it at home, at work, or in any other sphere you navigate.
