The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) and non-quantitative treatment limitations (NQTL) presentation will go over EBSA’s mission, regulations of group health plans, health laws, potential enforcement flags, and fiduciaries duties. The presentation will also review plan or policy warning signs of nonquantitative treatment limitations that require additional analysis to determine mental health parity compliance.

Transitioning care of a resident from one environment to another is a complex process. The resident’s journey through the healthcare system can involve several interfaces. These handoffs can leave residents vulnerable to preventable medication errors. Keeping residents safe is the number one priority of many healthcare professionals. Our goal is to improve patient safety during transitions in care by working as a collaborative team and identifying areas of weakness.

306: Creating smart SNFs—Augmenting care with robots, AI & VR

This session will highlight innovative, technology-focused shifts in skilled nursing and how we, as a whole, can look to augment the way we deliver care in the profession. We will discuss forms of artificial intelligence (AI) and the development of The Monarch Robot Program. Outside of robotics, we will look at how virtual reality (VR) can improve resident wellness and provide novel employee trainings. As we speak about employee education platforms, we will demo smart manikins and other software.
