Assisted living contract terminations—Process & tips
Product Code: 2431W

This session will review the legal requirements an assisted living facility must follow to pursue an involuntary contract termination with a resident. They will provide case scenarios for more difficult situations including roadblocks when a resident resists pursuing alternative safe locations; and violent and illegal resident behavior and considerations for keeping everyone safe. On the clinical side, Ms. Johnson will review best practices for care concern documentation, and how to work with residents, their advocates, and the resident’s providers to ensure a safe and orderly discharge to a new location. Ms. Coffin and Mr. Usher will also review the assisted living contract appeals process.
