National Silver Quality Award Application Workshop

National Silver Quality Award Application Workshop
Care Providers of Minnesota will once again present a full-day SILVER QUALITY AWARD WORKSHOP to help organizations better understand the award application criteria, scoring, and strategies for a successful 2020 application submission. Registration includes three follow-up virtual events and workshop participants are eligible for a discounted consulting rate with Paul Grizzell—if additional coaching is desired.

Over the past three years, 77% of attendees who attended a Care Providers of Minnesota’s quality award workshop and submitted a Silver Quality Award application were awarded the Silver Quality Award! The national average is 53%.

Silver Quality Award workshop brochureThe workshop is designed for key leaders to better understand how to accelerate their progress from the Bronze level to the Silver level of recognition. Suggested participants are administrators or executive directors and directors of nursing or directors of home care, along with other leadership team members—including owners. A team approach is the most effective method to develop your application in a manner that makes it your “management document,” and not just an award application.

Are you eligible?

Facilitator
Paul GrizzellCare Providers of Minnesota is delighted to once again partner with Paul Grizzell, Baldrige Coach and President of Core Values Partners, to present the Silver Quality Award workshop (Paul was the facilitator at our very-successful Bronze workshops in 2016,  2017, 2018 & 2019, and our equally-successful Silver workshops in 2016, 2017 & 2018). Learn more about Paul and his organization in the event brochure.

In addition to the expertise of Paul Grizzell, the workshop will be joined by AHCA/NCAL Quality Award Examiners:
  • Racey Gasior, Director of Wellness Initiatives, Tealwood Senior Living
  • Shauna Kapsner, Director of Operations, Partners Senior Living Options
  • Karen Ruda, Director of Customer Experience, North Shore Healthcare

Who can apply for the 2020 AHCA/NCAL National Silver Quality Award?
Please review the eligibility requirements on pages 4–5 of the "2020 Silver Application & Criteria" document in the Silver Application Packet to ensure you are eligible to apply. The 2020 AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program application packets are now available online, and the program calendar and submission checklist have been posted here

Workshop objectives
  • Gain an understanding of the value of moving from Bronze Award recognition to Silver Award recognition
  • Go “behind the scenes” of the assessment process to understand what Examiners are looking for and why that's important to us—beyond an award application
  • Understand the details of the Baldrige Process and Results categories
  • Begin to identify your organization’s Strengths and Opportunities for Improvement as you practice writing responses with the assistance of experienced examiners
The Silver Quality Award Criteria are largely based on the Baldrige Excellence Builder. In addition to the Organizational Profile, applicants will respond to the seven Baldrige categories—including the basic—and select overall item requirements within the categories. Learn more in the event brochure!

While not focused on GOLD Quality Award applications, those interested in submitting GOLD Quality Award applications are welcome to attend.
