When health professionals need help

When health professionals need help
Minnesota licensed professionals have stressful careers and personal choices made aren’t always the best. Where can we go when we’re challenged? What can we do so that our careers and futures are not in shambles? There is assistance to intervene, refer to diagnose, treat and monitor as an alternative to licensing board discipline.

Misconceptions about the Health Professionals Services Program (HPSP) can create uncertainty for healthcare professionals facing monitoring. This session will clarify its role, dispel common myths, and provide a clear understanding of the monitoring process. Through real-world case reviews—including scenarios involving diversion—we’ll explore key steps, the connection to licensing boards, and the impact on professional careers. Attendees will also gain insights into wellness strategies for healthcare professionals and learn how those in monitoring can successfully continue their careers while receiving the support they need.
