Nurse Managers in Assisted Living & Home Care: Part 2

Nurse Managers in Assisted Living & Home Care: Part 2
EDUCATION SERIES, PART 2 of 2 | The Nurse Managers in Assisted Living & Home Care education series is one of Care Providers of Minnesota’s most popular and longest-running programs. This popular four-day certificate series is designed for home care nurses who manage the multitude of tasks they face every day in assisted living, housing with services, and home care operations. Most nurses come well prepared to the nurse manager position with nursing skills; however, they may not have experience in the management side of their job duties. This four-day series helps nurse managers increase the skills necessary to be an effective manager in assisted living, housing with services, and home care.

Quote from past attendee: I am in awe of all presenters' knowledge. Lots of great information.

Experts will present on a variety of critical topics:

Check out the brochure
for more information

  • Clinical decision making
  • Defining your role as a nurse manager
  • Medication management
  • Using systems/tools to get your work done
  • Surveys preparation and success
  • Dealing with difficult behaviors
  • Nurse documentation—Best practices in charting
  • Personalized dementia care
  • Nurse leadership—Keeping staff happy and accountable
  • Addressing complaints—When, how & why?
  • New law update

The content of this program is designed to satisfy housing manager continuing education requirements and a portion of the annual dementia training requirements. *
*By August 1, 2021, each licensed assisted living facility is required to have a licensed assisted living director. The Board of Executives for Long-Term Services & Supports is currently developing education requirements and testing for assisted living director licensure. Because the education requirements have yet to be developed, this series was not designed to satisfy a licensure training and examination course. However, the series is designed to meet Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators and Board of Nursing continuing education requirements.

Note: This certificate program is designed for nurses new to assisted living and housing with services. While there are updates and new sessions each year, the core curriculum stays consistent. The Nurse Managers in Assisted Living & Home Care education series is not meant for annual attendance.
