Show us your Purpose & Passion for the long-term care profession at the 71st annual Convention & Exposition. Preparations are underway for the annual event; returning to Mystic Lake Center, November 18–20, 2019. This event attracts nearly 2,500 long-term care providers in skilled nursing, housing, home care, and assisted living settings. For three days, we host dynamic keynote sessions, engaging learning sessions, an exposition with more than 110 vendors, awards presentations, and other special events. We look to you to showcase your knowledge and expertise by submitting a LEARNING SESSION and/or MINIBYTE proposal.

Please note: The proposal submission deadline has passed.

AttendeesCare Providers of Minnesota is committed to offering dynamic learning experiences at convention. We welcome proposals from new speakers and accept proposals for all experience levels—novice, intermediate, and advanced. However, as many attendees are experienced professionals, we will give extra consideration to proposals focused on advanced sessions. See target groups & topics below.

There are TWO options for convention education presentations:
  • 75-minute / 150-minute LEARNING SESSION
  • 15-minute MINIBYTE

You may submit both LEARNING SESSION and MINIBYTE proposals, however, there is a limit of two proposals per category for a maximum of four proposals total.

Limit of two LEARNING SESSION proposals
We want presenters who will actively engage the audience and go beyond a lecture format. When attendees are engaged in the learning process, they are more likely to understand and remember the information that is shared. There are many options one may use to engage attendees, including case studies, small group discussions, polling, open-ended questions, and time for questions and answers.

We are using the same online submission process (ProposalSpace) as previous years. If you have previously submitted a proposal using ProposalSpace, there is no need to create a new account or password. New users will need to create a username and password.

Please note: Proposals can no longer be submitted.

MINIBYTES—Back by popular demand!

MINIBYTESLimit of two MINIBYTES proposals
Consider a MINIBYTES proposal, if you are interested in presenting a shorter, less formal presentation. MINIBYTES are 15-minute presentations by one speaker on a focused topic. No need to create a PowerPoint slideshow or lengthy materials, however, a one-page handout with tips, resources, or checklists is requested. MINIBYTES are grouped together by topic/profession. MINIBYTES presenters MUST register for convention.

Please note: Proposals can no longer be submitted.

You understand the trends, issues, and challenges facing your profession and you have firsthand experience in a variety of areas. Give back to your profession by sharing your knowledge and experience with your peers (and you don’t need to do it alone—co-presenters are always welcome).
State agencies & other long-term care organizations
This is an opportunity for the agencies and organizations our members work with every day to share important information with participants. It’s also a great place to learn the concerns and priorities of providers.
Business partners, product and service suppliers
By presenting valued LEARNING SESSIONS and/or MINIBYTES, business partners can present themselves as content experts to attendees. Business partners are welcome to submit proposals; however, LEARNING SESSIONS and MINIBYTES CANNOT be commercial presentations. The proposals must be completely educational and not promote your products/services. Remember, it is helpful for our members to see your company represented in a LEARNING SESSION and/or MINIBYTE and at a booth in the exposition.

Contact us for questions about the submission process or educational content for Convention sessions. We're here to help! Our toll-free number is 1-800-462-0024.
