Care Providers of Minnesota is closely monitoring the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation, and after much thought and discussion, we have decided to postpone the Senior Housing & Home Care Summit May 12-13, 2020. Due to the growing concerns of COVID-19 and the importance for long-term care staff to be present in their facilities to care for residents/clients and communicate with families, we feel this is the right decision to make at this time.
Our priority is to prevent the virus from spreading to those in your care and their families. Traveling across the state to attend a conference could increase the risk that long-term care providers may become infected. Your residents/clients are the most vulnerable to this virus and we need to do all we can to minimize every risk. This unprecedented step will also allow you and your team members to focus on your own operations at this time: preparing your staff; following strict infection prevention and control procedures; and communicating with families and partner facilities.
Please know this action wasn’t taken lightly by Care Providers of Minnesota. Thank you for understanding as we work to support you as healthcare providers and those in your care. Care Providers of Minnesota will explore rescheduled dates when it is more responsible to hold the event. Please note, Care Providers of Minnesota has been in contact with BENHA/BELTS on possible extension of the CEU reporting deadline.
Care Providers of Minnesota will continue to provide resources and updates about COVID-19 on our website.
We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions, please contact Cheryl Smith at the Association office.
