Guest Speakers
Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV)
Senator Catherine Cortez Masto serves on the Senate Finance Committee, where she works on the health care and Medicaid policy decisions that directly affect long term care providers nationwide. A former two-term Attorney General of Nevada, Cortez Masto spent years prosecuting financial fraud and protecting seniors before joining the Senate— experience that directly informs her of work on health care and consumer protection policy today.

In the Senate, she has focused on expanding access to health care, strengthening protections for older Americans, and ensuring federal health care programs work for the people who depend on them. That record makes her a voice worth hearing for anyone working in long term care.

She also serves on the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources; and the Committee on Indian Affairs. A Nevada native and the first Latina elected to the U.S. Senate, she earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law. She resides in Las Vegas with her husband, Paul.
