Health Care Reimbursement Specialist

This position is responsible for supporting the Minnesota Veterans Home business offices in the facilitation of the Medicare and 3rd Party Reimbursement program. This individual is the subject matter expert for the Minnesota Veterans Home regarding Medicare Part A, B, and Managed Care. This position will collaborate with each individual home regarding enrollment in Medicare and Managed Care programs, other Insurance coverage’s and ongoing eligibility needs. This position secures reimbursement due to the State for care and treatment provided to individuals at Minnesota Veterans Homes by performing timely and accurate billing services.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications: • Two years of professional experience in a skilled nursing facility in business operations and billing (a Bachelor’s degree can substitute for 1 year of experience) AND Professional experience must demonstrate knowledge of: • Medicare Part A, B, Managed Care, and third party billing • CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) rules, policies and standards related to senior health care services delivered in a skilled nursing facility • Knowledge of claim filing process, accounts receivables, and insurance coverage for skilled nursing facilities Preferred Qualifications: • Point Click Care experience and knowledge • Experience in Health Care Receivables - UBO4 and 1500 claims Additional Requirements This position requires successful completion of the following: • A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check will be conducted on all finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check. • Employee reference checks will be conducted on all finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance. It also includes contact with the applicant’s former employer(s).
