Take part in our Day at the Capitol letter writing campaign—Whether attending or not!

We have communicated how important it is to make our voices heard at the Capitol; however, this year we need to do more—we also need to be seen. In past years, we’ve shown up at the Capitol with petitions and even cardboard cut-outs to draw attention to long-term care issues, representing our coworkers and residents back at the facility who were unable to make the trek to the Capitol. This year, we are promoting a grassroots letter-writing campaign.

To coincide with our Day at the Capitol (DATC) on March 15, 2023, we are asking you to write letters that can be dropped off at the governor’s, senators’, and representatives’ offices. We have made it easy to participate by creating templates with basic messages that staff and residents can easily fill in and personalize.

If you ARE attending the DATC, here's what we need you to do:
  • Download a template message that staff and residents can personalize, print, and then bring these messages to the Capitol on March 15
  • When you meet with your legislators, leave the letters from staff and residents behind; you can also drop off letters to the governor at his office

If you ARE NOT able to attend, here's what you can do:
  • Download a template that staff and residents can personalize and print
  • Send us the letters by March 10, and we will drop them off for you
  • Send the letters to: Care Providers of Minnesota, 7851 Metro Parkway, Suite 200, Bloomington MN  55425 or email them to Kaila May
