The Director of the Year Award recognizes the achievements of an individual at the senior leadership level for their leadership contributions and skills. After the Recognition Committee read the accomplishments of Dr. Chiamaka Enemuoh, LALD, at Lifestone Health Care, Inc., selecting her as the 2023 recipient was an easy choice. Here’s why:

Emmanuel Enemuoh, Vice President as Lifestone Health Care, Inc, wrote:

Dr. Enemuoh is a hands-on leader who has led Lifestone Health Care Inc. with laser focus on its mission of providing its clients with reliable and respectful health care in a home-like setting and providing opportunities for its employees’ wellbeing and development. Lifestone Health Care Inc. is a relatively small assisted living facility where a management staff could wear multiple hats to support the strategic operation of the organization. Dr. Enemuoh’s Doctorate degrees in Nursing Practice (DNP) and Business Administration (B.S.); and her decades of experience in health care have prepared her to wear many hats as the founder, Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD), and charge nurse at Lifestone.

As the LALD and charge nurse, Dr. Enemuoh not only leads the strategic plan of Lifestone, but she is also solely responsible for nursing training of all the onboarding care givers. She develops the care plans; behavior plans and other care documents to guide the care of the clients. To enhance continuing education of the staff, she develops monthly materials on different aspects of health care monthly.

Dr. Enemuoh is passionate about motivating her caregivers about furthering their education in nursing or other relevant healthcare programs. She proactively offers her caregivers the opportunity to have flexible work schedule to allow them further their nursing education while working at Lifestone. Most recently, Dr. Enemuoh provided matched funds to support a six-month leadership training program for the Activity Coordinator that will provide learning opportunity for her to improve quality and excellence as health care worker.

Dr. Enemuoh is passionate about serving the Duluth community and helping other people succeed through her extensive time commitment to a variety of personal and professional affiliations. She is a member of the Duluth Chamber Board of Directors, and its Executive Board. She is the Vice-Chair of both Fuse Duluth and Leadership Duluth – two additional Chamber organizations. She is a member of the Duluth Workforce Board of Directors. Dr. Enemuoh is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and a member of the Board of Directors for the Women’s Business Alliance, through the Entrepreneur Fund.

As an Entrepreneur Fund’s STRIDE Advisor, Dr. Enemuoh provides opportunities for Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) entrepreneurs to access grants, 0% interest loans, and one-on-one advising to strategically launch or grow businesses. Dr. Enemuoh does not only provide advice to support other businesses, but she has also financially supported BIPOC and non-BIPOC businesses in their difficult times financially.

Dr. Enemouh was presented with the 2023 Director of the Year Award at our annual convention this past November. Please take a quick look at what so many others had to say about this exceptional leader!

And if there is a leader at your organization that deserves recognition, please nominate them for a Care Providers of Minnesota 2024 Director of the Year Award. Look for information on all our award categories coming next month!
