The Maintenance Director is responsible for the overall maintenance of the facility. By performing repairs and maintenance on equipment and supplies, ordering and requisitioning supplies and equipment as needed. He/She performs regular scheduled maintenance checks and documents them and assigns tasks to assistant if applicable. The position evaluates efficient operation of all systems and equipment and makes changes as necessary. AA/EOE Duties: Monitors plumbing and electrical systems, maintains physical plant, fire alarm system, emergency electrical systems, heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, water and sewage systems, performs routine maintenance and repair work, maintains the facilities' outside areas, prevents safety hazards, coordinates preventive maintenance contract visits Qualifications: Should be at least 21 years of age and have completed the 12th grade of High School. Two (2) years of experience in maintenance and power plant work is desirable. Must have thorough knowledge of general maintenance, such as: boilers, heating and air conditioning units, refrigerators and freezers, electrical wiring, etc. Boiler license is required, in facilities where a boiler exists, and a Minnesota Engineer-Class C license is preferred. Must possess leadership ability and the ability and willingness to cooperate and communicate with all staff and Department Directors. Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Must qualify for employment, after criminal background study, per guidelines of the Department of Human Services.
