This is the first webinar in the Self-Care during a Pandemic webinar series. This series will explore matters related to trauma, grief management, anxiety, compassion fatigue, being experienced industry-wide due to COVID-19 and offer ways that attendees can identify and activate self-care strategies for their personal and work lives. Taking an intentional focus will result in greater resiliency of attendees when responding to and managing through the challenges of surviving a public health pandemic. In addition, attendees will learn about resources being made available through Care Providers of Minnesota, such as the Health Heroes Initiative App and live, dedicated supporters who will be there for you.



Learning objectives
  • Introduction to “Self-care during a pandemic” series and new resources
  • Learn about the five key concepts of wellness including : Hope, Personal Responsibility, Education, Self-Advocacy and Support to utilize in creating an individual plan for wellness
  • Attendees will be introduced to the concept of creating a “Wellness Toolbox” that can be filled with skills and concepts presented in the following months of the series. Attendees will be encouraged to create 3-5 wellness tools for their own toolbox and examples will be discussed

Melinda is a highly-motivated mental health rehabilitation service professional with 30+ years of demonstrated experience in creative program development, implementation, technical training and assistance of community-based mental health programs centered on the person and their desired outcomes in community living. She holds an MS in rehabilitation counseling and a BS in social work.

Jode has her AA in Business Management from Central Lakes College and a plethora of life experiences in her portfolio. Her vocational life includes human service in senior living, coordination of a rural detox unit, 15 years in supported employment, housing support, mobile crisis and crisis stabilization services as well as her present identity of social instigator, advocate and mental health educator.
